The main character, Lion-O, starts off as a child but for frankly bizarre reasons that aren't very well explained within the show as you might remember, Lion-O gets an adult body while still having the mind of a kid. These humanoid-like cat people have to leave their dying world and end up on an entirely new planet called Third Earth. Basically in the 1980s, the studio Rankin/Bass created one of the first shows about furries. To start off, I'll briefly discuss the original show that this version is based on.

However what can't be unforgiven is what happened to two of Cartoon Network's shows, beloved by fans and canceled more than likely due to toy sales, one is probably apparent to you already but I'm here to talk about this show in particular: 'ThunderCats', the 2011 reboot that got put down worse than your beloved house pet.

But when looking through the list of Cartoon Network shows, most have either had a satisfying or mostly satisfying conclusion while a few shows have been brought back to finish in different ways such as 'Samurai Jack' and 'Young Justice'. вЂThunderCats RoarвЂ™ will premier next year sometime.Okay, so originally, I was going to do a controversy list similar to my Nickelodeon list. But let todayвЂ™s kids have their own вЂThunderCatsвЂ™. If fans of the older iterations of вЂThunderCatsвЂ™ donвЂ™t want to watch вЂThunderCats RoarвЂ™, they donвЂ™t have to. Fans hated the first look at вЂTeen TitansвЂ™ but that show went on to be a hit with viewers of all ages. We havenвЂ™t seen the finished product of вЂThunderCats RoarвЂ™. (The same thing happened with вЂYoung JusticeвЂ™.)

And without the revenue from the toys, the network couldnвЂ™t afford to keep the show going just to appease older people that were, quite frankly, not their target demographic. And if kids donвЂ™t like something, they certainly donвЂ™t buy the toys. The fact of the matter is, in 2011, Cartoon Network launched an older-skewing, intelligent remake of вЂThunderCatsвЂ™ which was planned to run for 52 episodes, but it failed and was cancelled after the first season because kids didnвЂ™t like it. ItвЂ™sвЂ¦ not as good as you think it was.Д¬oincidentally, the announcement of вЂThuderCats RoarвЂ™ coincided with a separate announcement of Netflix and DreamworksвЂ™ reboot of вЂShe-RaвЂ™, which has gotten a similar reaction from original fans. But seriously, head over to Youtube and try watching some clips from it. But for starters, like many 1980s cartoons, вЂThuderCatsвЂ™ has become idealized in older fans heads. The вЂ™80s and 2011 versions of вЂThunderCatsвЂ™ happened. Internet fans are very protective of the properties they grew up with, but often fail to realize that these modern shows arenвЂ™t made for them.
